Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the Catherine Zeta-Jones revenge thriller "Kill Jackie" for HBO Max in nine European markets, according to Variety. The deal covers Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, France, and Belgium. The eight-part series is scheduled to debut in 2026. AMC Global Media picked up the U.S. rights separately, as Variety reported on 22 July 2026.

Zeta-Jones plays a drug dealer turned glamorous art dealer who becomes the target of the Seven Demons, a hit squad of the world's most terrifying assassins. Daniel Ings co-stars as her foil — a tax lawyer who is distinctly sensitive about violence and carries much of the humour. The cast also includes Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and Bill Paterson, among others. Variety

The series adapts "The Price You Pay" by Nick Harkaway, who wrote the novel under the pen name Aidan Truhen. Tom Butterworth and Conor Keane wrote the scripts; Damon Thomas is lead director. Fremantle and Steel Spring Pictures produce, with Fremantle handling all international distribution outside the U.S. Production took place in and around Bilbao, Spain, through a partnership with José Luis Escolar's Deabru Kalea Filmeak. "Kill Jackie" did not start life as an HBO Max title. It was originally announced in February 2025 as a series from Prime Video, Fremantle, and Steel Spring Pictures, per Variety at the time. Fremantle's Jamie Lynn, EVP co-production and distribution for the EMEA region, and Rebecca Dundon and Fran Denny brokered the deals. Variety

HBO Max is set to pass Prime Video to become the second-largest streamer in Spain by the end of 2026, according to Ampere Analysis.
