If you own certain Ubisoft games on Xbox, you can now play them on PC without buying them again. Microsoft and Ubisoft announced the cross-platform scheme on July 27, 2026, giving digital Xbox copies of 13 Ubisoft titles a second life on PC Xbox Wire.

The eligible lineup spans some of Ubisoft's biggest franchises: Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs Legion Eurogamer.

Only digital Xbox copies qualify. If you bought any of these games on a disc, the offer does not apply. The process runs through Ubisoft Connect — the publisher's PC launcher, which also serves as a social hub linking players across platforms. Owners need to update Ubisoft Connect to its latest version for the eligible titles to show up in their PC library.

New purchases of eligible games should appear in Ubisoft Connect immediately. Titles bought before the announcement should populate by August 4, 2026, according to Xbox Wire. Once there, each game's library entry displays the edition tied to the account, and the Properties page breaks down all owned DLC and add-on content.

Owned DLC transfers from Xbox to PC alongside the base game. Consumable items and in-game currency, however, may not make the trip. For games that support cross-progression — a feature that syncs save data and unlocks between platforms — all content from the Xbox version carries over to PC.

The scheme runs one direction only. PC game owners cannot convert their copies into Xbox versions, so this is not a two-way street.

In a related move, several Ubisoft games with premium editions also became available on the Xbox app on PC, including Assassin's Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, Skull and Bones, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. That gives PC players who prefer the Xbox app a direct route to those titles without going through Ubisoft Connect separately.

For Xbox owners who have built up a Ubisoft library on console, the practical upside is straightforward: the same games, the same expansions, playable on a second platform without spending again. The gaps — no reverse transfer, uncertain consumables, and the digital-only requirement — are worth checking before assuming everything moves over cleanly.
