Tyler Perry's "Beauty in Black" returns to Netflix for its third season on August 27, 2026 — and it is no longer the final one.

Netflix has renewed the drama for a fourth season ahead of the Season 3 premiere, according to Deadline. That reversal matters: the show had previously been indicated to conclude after its third season, the same source reports. Netflix's own Tudum site confirmed the Season 4 renewal on July 23, 2026 (Netflix Tudum).

First-look photos for the new season were released alongside the premiere-date announcement.

"Beauty in Black" was Perry's first series for Netflix, launched when the streaming platform was building out its Tyler Perry pipeline (Netflix Tudum). The series follows two women on very different paths: Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, and Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart. For fans, the Season 4 renewal means the story of Kimmie and Mallory will continue beyond the point where it was meant to stop. The writers' room now has more runway, and a crew that might have been wrapping up has a future season to build toward.
