Five days before that premiere, Netflix is throwing a goodbye party. On August 15, the platform will hold "Pogues For Life: A Fan Farewell Event With The Cast Of Outer Banks" in Los Angeles. The event centres on the inaugural Pogue Awards, a fan-voted ceremony commemorating iconic moments from the series' five-season run. After the awards, cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, and Drew Starkey will take the stage for a live conversation and a screening of the Season 5 premiere episode. Fans who cannot attend in person can watch via a live stream on Tudum.com, Netflix's companion site.

Outer Banks was created and is executive produced by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke. The series follows a group of teenagers on North Carolina's barrier islands — the self-styled "Pogues" — who chase treasure, dodge danger, and feud with the wealthier "Kooks" of the island.
