Dead by Daylight Opens Early Access for Its First Community-Made Chapter

Dead by Daylight players can now step into Chorus of Sin — the horror game's first-ever community-created Chapter — ahead of its official launch. Behaviour Interactive opened the Early Access build at 9am ET on July 30, 2026, giving fans an early look at new content born from the game's own community of creators (Dead by Daylight).

Early Access, in this case, means a pre-release version of the Chapter that players can try before it goes fully live. Behaviour distributed free codes that unlock the content ahead of its wider release, letting anyone with a code jump in and experience what the community helped build (GameSpot).

The milestone was first announced during Dead by Daylight's 10th anniversary celebrations in June 2026, where Behaviour revealed that Chorus of Sin would be the game's inaugural community-created Chapter — a piece of downloadable content designed with input from the players themselves rather than solely by the studio's internal team (Dead by Daylight).

For context, a "Chapter" in Dead by Daylight is a major content drop — typically adding a new killer, survivor, and map to the asymmetrical horror game, where one player stalks four others trying to escape. Chorus of Sin follows that formula, but its community-driven origin sets it apart from every Chapter the game has shipped in its decade-long run.

Dead by Daylight launched in 2016 and has grown into one of the most enduring live-service games in the horror genre — a game sold and continuously updated in seasons, with new content keeping the player base engaged year after year. The game has hosted crossovers with horror franchises from Halloween to Scream to Resident Evil, but a Chapter built from community creation is new territory.

What makes Chorus of Sin stand out is the signal it sends about how Behaviour sees its player base — not just as an audience, but as a creative partner. Ten years in, many live-service games lean on licensing deals or internal roadmaps. Handing the community a Chapter of their own is a different bet on longevity.

Players who grab a free Early Access code can try the Chapter now. Those who wait will get access when Chorus of Sin receives its official, full release — a date Behaviour has not yet confirmed.
