Ted Lasso is back. Season 4 premieres on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with new episodes rolling out weekly through to the finale on October 7, according to Deadline.

The season runs ten episodes in total, each dropping on a Wednesday. That weekly cadence — rather than a full-season dump — means viewers will be living with Ted and the gang for just over two months.

Jason Sudeikis returns as the mustachioed coach at the centre of it all. But this time, Ted is taking on a new challenge: coaching a women's football team. It is a shift that moves the show from the pitch of AFC Richmond's men's side to a different dressing room entirely, with a fresh set of players to mentor and, presumably, biscuits to share.

The familiar faces are largely intact. Juno Temple is back as Keeley Jones, Hannah Waddingham returns as Rebecca Welton, Jeremy Swift reprises Leslie Higgins, and Brett Goldstein steps back into the gruff brilliance of Roy Kent. Ted is also helped by newcomer Tanya Reynolds, who joins a sizable batch of fresh cast members.

That incoming group also includes Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern. Grant Feely takes on the role of Ted's son, Henry — a part that carries its own weight in a show where the father-son bond has always been quietly central.

For fans, the return settles a long wait. Ted Lasso's third season wrapped in May 2023, and since then the question of whether the show would continue at all has hovered over every Apple TV+ scheduling announcement. A fourth season is now a fact, not a rumour, and the release dates are locked.

The Wednesday slot is a notable choice. Apple TV+ has used Wednesdays for some of its biggest premieres, spacing its titles out from the Friday and weekend clusters where streamers often pile releases together. Weekly release schedules — as opposed to dropping an entire season at once — give a show room to build conversation between episodes, something Ted Lasso has always thrived on.
