V&A Dundee will launch Scotland Fashion Now, a four-day annual programme running from 3 to 6 September 2026, aimed at positioning Scotland as a pipeline of fashion talent and a test bed for the British Fashion Council's decentralisation plan, Fashion Britain (WWD, 3 Aug 2026).

Fashion Britain is a British Fashion Council initiative designed to shift the industry's centre of gravity beyond London and embed it more deeply in communities across the British Isles. The programme will span six cities — London, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and Edinburgh — and builds on the council's 2030 vision (British Fashion Council; WWD, 29 Jul 2026).

Scotland Fashion Now opens on the evening of 3 September with its Graduate Showcase '26, an hourlong runway experience featuring 83 looks from 26 designers drawn from four Scottish institutions: Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, Gray's School of Art and the Design School at Heriot-Watt University (WWD, 3 Aug 2026). Tickets for the showcase, held in V&A Dundee's Locke Hall and Upper Foyer from 18:30 to 22:30, are priced at £35 standard and £25 concession (V&A Dundee). The show will be followed by a networking reception backed by Mulberry, whose new creative director of women's ready-to-wear, Christopher Kane, is Scottish (WWD, 3 Aug 2026).

On 4 September, the museum hosts a designer panel in collaboration with the British Fashion Council — the first event in the council's National Designer Panel Series, a partnership with Elle U.K. under the Fashion Britain banner. The programme also includes an "Alternative Careers in Fashion" session that afternoon, priced at £6 (V&A Dundee).

The weekend broadens further. A free, drop-in open casting for "fashion's new face" in Scotland's northeast runs on 5 September in the museum's Weston Studio and Robertson spaces, organised with Model Team (V&A Dundee). A runway representation panel, a hairstyling masterclass and a fashion communications workshop for emerging brands round out the schedule. On 6 September, a free screening of the Graduate Showcase '26 will loop in the Juniper Auditorium from 10:00 to 17:00 (V&A Dundee).

Troy Nelson, creative programmer at V&A Dundee, said Scotland plays a distinct role in shaping the global fashion industry, "blending heritage craft and subversive tradition with an international outlook" (WWD, 3 Aug 2026).

Scotland Fashion Now sits alongside a broader exhibition slate at V&A Dundee for 2026, including "Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show," a UK-exclusive exhibition exploring over 100 years of runway history, and a forthcoming exhibition celebrating disabled design and culture (V&A Dundee; V&A Dundee, 6 Apr 2026).

For a fashion industry that has historically orbited London, a four-day programme in Dundee — backed by the national body, a major house and four art schools — signals where the British Fashion Council intends to invest next.
