MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments Sets Release Dates for Four New Episodes

Four new episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The RiffTrax Experiments now have release dates, with the first arriving in cinemas on 9 September 2026 and all four landing online before the franchise's annual Thanksgiving marathon (Variety).
The run begins with "Sting of Death," which screens in cinemas across the United States on 9 September 2026, with an encore matinee on 13 September. The same episode debuts online on 9 October. "Deathsport" follows on 23 October. A mystery third episode — its film title not yet announced — becomes available on the RiffTrax Best Friends streaming service on 30 October and opens to the general public a week later, on 6 November. The fourth, "Space Raiders," drops on 20 November. All episodes are available via RiffTrax.com (Variety).
The "Space Raiders" episode carries an extra draw for long-time viewers: it marks the onscreen returns of Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff, two of the original series' best-known cast members. Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett return both in front of and behind the camera, and Mary Jo Pehl reprises her role as Pearl Forrester. Nelson, Murphy, and Corbett have been performing under the RiffTrax banner since 2006, riffing — offering comedic commentary over — more than 1,000 films, shorts, and television shows in that time (Variety).
Production took place earlier in 2026 in Minneapolis, where the original MST3K was filmed. Variety first reported in February 2026 that RiffTrax and Shout! Studios had partnered to produce the four episodes (Variety).
For Kickstarter backers who supported the campaign at any reward tier that includes an episode download, a free month of RiffTrax Best Friends — the subscription streaming tier that carries RiffTrax's library — is redeemable starting 16 October 2026 (Variety).
Fathom Entertainment, which is handling the theatrical release of "Sting of Death," lists the episode as an upcoming cinema event on its official releases page (Fathom Entertainment). RiffTrax confirmed on its Facebook page that tickets for the "Sting of Death" screenings are on sale, with "Mike and the Bots" returning to theatres (RiffTrax on Facebook).
RiffTrax's own events page additionally teases a separate live theatrical event on 25 October, described as a never-before-seen take on an unnamed film (RiffTrax Events). Details on that title have not been confirmed.
For fans, this autumn amounts to a steady drip of new MST3K content rather than a single premiere night — one episode in cinemas, then a weekly rhythm online through to late November. The Turkey Day marathon, a Thanksgiving tradition the show has kept alive across multiple revivals, will have fresh material to draw on.
