Megan Moroney Partners With American Girl for Cloud 9 Tour-Inspired Collection

Country singer Megan Moroney has partnered with American Girl on a collection of doll outfits and accessories inspired by her Cloud 9 Tour, available from Wednesday, August 5 at American Girl retail stores and on americangirl.com. Billboard
The collection pulls directly from the stage look Moroney has been wearing on her first headlining arena tour, which launched in May. She named the Cloud 9 Tour after her album Cloud 9, released in February, which topped the Billboard 200 — the chart that ranks the most-consumed albums in the United States each week, combining physical sales, digital downloads and streaming equivalent album units (the measure that converts plays into album sales).
The American Girl line includes a Moroney-inspired mic stand, a sparkly guitar, a pink sequined dress with white boots, and a pink heart-shaped bag that comes with pink doll lip gloss. An 18-inch Moroney-inspired doll will follow later in the year: it goes on sale November 22 on target.com and arrives exclusively in Target stores in December. Billboard
For Moroney, the tie to American Girl runs back to her own childhood. Her favourite doll was Emily Bennett, a character introduced by the brand in 2006. The collaboration also marks her first product offering aimed at a younger age group — a shift from the concert-ticket and streaming audience that has driven her chart success so far.
People magazine corroborated the August 5 launch date in its own coverage of the doll collection. People
What gives the partnership its particular texture is the closed circle of it: a woman who grew up playing with American Girl dolls now dressing those same dolls in scaled-down versions of her own arena-tour wardrobe. The collection lands mid-tour, while Moroney is still out on the road playing the shows that gave it its visual language.
