Minnie Driver has revealed she suffered a neck injury in a serious car accident in France, sharing the news in an Instagram video on 6 August 2026 while lying in bed wearing a neck brace. The Oscar-nominated actress, known for Good Will Hunting and Emily in Paris, said she was "so grateful to be alive" Variety.

Driver said the crash happened a few days before she posted the video. She was travelling on a country road in the middle of France with her friend Ben when a car failed to stop at an intersection and struck their vehicle at speed. "We T-boned it," she said, making clear the accident was not their fault. Both Driver and Ben crawled out of the wreckage alive.

The actress described her injuries as a sprained neck. She said she was in shock and cried all the time, but added that she is going to heal. The video closed with a photograph of the totaled car and a second image of Driver and Ben walking out of hospital arm in arm.

Driver, 56, has worked in film and television for more than three decades. Her career spans studio features, independent film, and network drama, including the ABC series Speechless, which ran from 2016 to 2019.
