The Critics Choice Association revealed the winners of its sixth annual Super Awards on 6 August 2026, honouring the year's best in superhero, sci-fi/fantasy, horror and action across film and television. Deadline

Two series topped the field. The Boys and Widow's Bay each took home three awards — the most of any title. On the film side, Obsession, Superman, Project Hail Mary and The Furious each won two.

The Super Awards split their categories across four genres, for both movies and television, with acting prizes for each. That means a lot of winners, and several surprises.

The Furious won Best Action Movie, with Xie Miao taking Best Actor in an Action Movie for his performance in it. Charlize Theron won Best Actress in an Action Movie for Apex. Superman claimed Best Superhero Movie, and David Corenswet won Best Actor in a Superhero Movie for playing the title role. Milly Alcock won Best Actress in a Superhero Movie for Supergirl.

In horror, Obsession won Best Horror Movie and its star Inde Navarrette won Best Actress in a Horror Movie. Ralph Fiennes won Best Actor in a Horror Movie for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Project Hail Mary took Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie, with Ryan Gosling winning Best Actor in that category. Emily Blunt won Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie for Disclosure Day.

Amy Madigan won Best Villain in a Movie for Weapons. And in a category that needs no explanation, Indy — the dog star of Good Boy — won the Best Good Boy in a Horror Movie special honour.

On the television side, Task won Best Action Series. Sterling K. Brown had a double win: he took Best Actor in an Action Series for Paradise and Best Actor in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series, also for Paradise. Kaitlin Olson won Best Actress in an Action Series for High Potential.

Spider-Noir and The Boys tied for Best Superhero Series — a rare shared win. Antony Starr won Best Actor in a Superhero Series for The Boys and also picked up Best Villain in a Series, giving him two trophies on the night. Danielle Brooks won Best Actress in a Superhero Series for Peacemaker.

Widow's Bay swept the horror series categories, winning Best Horror Series along with acting wins for Matthew Rhys and Kate O'Flynn. Pluribus won Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Series, and Rhea Seehorn won Best Actress in that category for her performance in it.

Going into the ceremony, Superman and The Boys had led the nominations, with The Boys topping all television entries with five nods. Deadline Both converted that nomination strength into wins — The Boys tying for top series honours and taking acting and villain prizes, Superman winning its film category plus a lead-actor award.

The Critics Choice Super Awards, now in their sixth year, are voted on by members of the Critics Choice Association and cover genre titles that the main Critics Choice Awards ceremony does not always reach. The winners were announced via press release rather than a televised ceremony.
