Aitana Scores Her First Billboard No. 1 as 'Superestrella' Tops Hot Latin Pop Songs

Aitana's single "Superestrella" has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Pop Songs chart, dated Aug. 8 — the Spanish singer's first trip to the top of any Billboard ranking. The track climbed from No. 2, completing a 22-week journey to the summit that is the longest such run since the chart launched in April 2025. Billboard
The song arrived May 29 as one of 19 tracks on Cuarto Azul, Aitana's fourth studio album. It was produced and co-written by Nicolás Cotton, with Aitana and Carolina Isabel Colón also credited as co-writers. On the Hot Latin Pop Songs ranking, "Superestrella" sits ahead of Karol G and Greg Gonzalez's "Despues de Ti" at No. 2 and Xavi's "DOSIS" at No. 3.
A 45% surge in U.S. audience impressions — to 12.8 million during the July 24–30 tracking week, according to the data firm Luminate — powered the single's rise on the airplay-driven chart. The boost in global streaming was attributed to Aitana's performance at Spain's official 2026 World Cup celebration, held July 20 at Madrid's Plaza Cibeles, where she was joined by the national team.
The ripple carried across multiple Billboard rankings. On the Billboard Global 200, which tracks worldwide streams and sales, "Superestrella" earned the weekly Greatest Gainer honour — the designation given to the chart's biggest mover — leaping 88–53 after a 24% gain in streams to 17.1 million clicks worldwide. It rallied 43–24 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 15.7 million streams outside the U.S., up 23%. The streaming surge also lifted the song 36–18 on the multimetric Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, streams and sales.
Cuarto Azul is climbing in parallel. The album debuted at No. 18 on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart dated Aug. 1, and has since risen to No. 12 in its second week on that ranking.
On the road, "Superestrella" has already taken on a closing-night role. The first show of Aitana's Cuarto Azul Tour, held in Almería, Spain, closed with the single as the final song of the setlist. Billboard — the tour launched in May, roughly two months before the song's chart-topping week.
For Aitana, whose catalogue has charted before but never peaked at No. 1 on a Billboard ranking, the climb was unusually slow — 22 weeks from release to the top of Hot Latin Pop Songs — and it took a national celebration to push it over the line. The Plaza Cibeles performance turned a track already on the charts into the week's biggest mover across multiple global tallies.
