Morrissey has cancelled his four-night Las Vegas residency at the Wynn's Encore Theater, citing "unforeseen logistical challenges," one week before the first show was set to take place.

The cancelled performances were scheduled for August 14, 15, 18 and 19 at the Encore Theater inside Wynn Las Vegas. Ticket buyers received an email on Friday, 7 August notifying them of the cancellation, according to Rolling Stone. The fan notification described the cause as "unforeseen logistical issues." The Sun had previously reported the residency was due to begin Friday, 14 August.

Ticketmaster listings for the affected shows stated that "the event organizer had to cancel the event," and the Wynn removed the dates from its Entertainment page. As of the cancellation announcement, Morrissey's own official website had not acknowledged the change and still listed the Las Vegas shows.

The Vegas residency would have been Morrissey's first live appearances since 1 August, when he performed in Portugal. His next scheduled date is in mid-September at Chicago's Riot Fest.

This is not an isolated disruption. Morrissey cancelled 22 scheduled performances in 2025, with another 10 postponed. Earlier this year, he called off California concerts — themselves rescheduled from 2025 — citing "an adverse reaction to a prescription medication." No health reason has been given for the Las Vegas cancellation; the stated cause is logistical.

For ticket holders, the immediate question is refunds. When an event is cancelled rather than postponed, face-value refunds are typically processed automatically through the point of purchase — in this case, Ticketmaster and the Wynn box office. Neither Morrissey's camp nor the Wynn has publicly addressed whether the residency will be rescheduled or scrapped entirely.

The silence from Morrissey's own channels is worth noting. While the venue and ticketing platforms moved quickly to update their listings, the artist's website continued to display the shows as scheduled, leaving some fans to learn of the cancellation through third-party notifications before any official statement from Morrissey himself.

Las Vegas residencies — extended, multi-night runs at a single venue rather than a traditional tour — have become a significant revenue stream for established acts, offering reduced production freight and guaranteed venue availability compared with routing a full arena tour. For the Wynn, a cancelled residency means empty seats in the 1,500-capacity Encore Theater during what is peak summer visitor season on the Strip.

Morrissey's next confirmed appearance remains Riot Fest in Chicago, scheduled for mid-September.
