Toem 2 gets a release date: the photography adventure returns this September

Toem 2, the sequel to the BAFTA-winning photography puzzler Toem, will launch on 29 September 2026 across Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC, and PlayStation 5. Developer Something We Made confirmed the date on 7 August 2026 through an official Facebook video titled "TOEM 2 - Release Date Announcement," with the studio's Instagram account carrying the news as well (Eurogamer).
For anyone who missed the first game: Toem is a photography puzzler — you explore black-and-white cartoon towns, snap photos to solve characters' problems, and collect stamps that unlock new areas. It won Best Debut at the 18th British Academy Games Awards, a recognition from BAFTA's games branch for first-time studios. Something We Made, a Swedish studio, developed and self-published the original.
Toem 2 picks up the camera for a new adventure about uncovering hidden details, helping friends, and documenting what the studio calls "the world's little wonders" (Eurogamer). The Steam store listing, which went live earlier in August, confirms the PC version will be available via Valve's storefront and names popagenda as a co-publisher alongside Something We Made (Steam).
The platform lineup is notable for its breadth. Toem 2 will appear on both the original Nintendo Switch and its successor, Nintendo Switch 2, alongside Sony's PlayStation 5 and PC. That covers every major current console family except Xbox — a platform choice the studio has not publicly explained.
Something We Made first teased the sequel and gradually revealed details through August, with games-industry tracker Gematsu reporting the 29 September date on 6 August (Gematsu). The studio's own social channels followed with the formal announcement video a day later.
For fans of the original, the appeal is straightforward: a chill, hand-drawn world where the camera is your only tool and curiosity is the main objective. The first Toem built a loyal following on that premise — short, sweet sessions where snapping the right photo at the right moment solved a stranger's problem. The sequel looks to keep that spirit intact while expanding the scope.
With just under two months until launch, the date is locked. No delays have been announced, and pre-release marketing is now in full swing across the studio's social channels.
