PlayStation Reveals Limited-Edition Wolverine PS5 Bundle, Controllers, and Adamantium Console Covers

Sony has unveiled a limited-edition PlayStation 5 console, DualSense controllers, and console cover sets themed around Marvel's Wolverine, all launching alongside the game on September 15, 2026. Pre-orders open August 19 through PlayStation Direct, Sony's first-party online store. The announcement gives fans of the clawed X-Man a hardware line in two distinct looks: a bright "Battle Yellow" and a metallic "Adamantium." (VGC)
The centrepiece is the Marvel's Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. It includes a PS5 Digital Edition — the version without a disc drive — finished in yellow with Wolverine artwork, paired with a matching yellow DualSense controller. Sony has confirmed there are no plans for a disc-edition or PS5 Pro version of this bundle. The Battle Yellow bundle is priced at US$649.99 / £569.99 / €649.99.
Players who already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro are not left out. The Battle Yellow console cover is sold separately for both consoles with and without disc drives, and the yellow DualSense controller is available as a standalone purchase. A second design line, "Adamantium," takes a different route: a metallic console cover made exclusively for the PS5 Pro, plus a matching metallic DualSense controller. Both the Battle Yellow and Adamantium controllers are priced at US$84.99 / £74.99 / €84.99 each, while the console covers — Battle Yellow for PS5/PS5 Slim and Adamantium for PS5 Pro — run US$74.99 / £64.99 / €74.99 each.
The console's artwork was created by Scottish comic book artist Mark Simpson, who works under the pen name Jock. Simpson also contributed key art for the game itself, tying the hardware design directly to the title's visual identity.
Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. The studio, also known for Marvel's Spider-Man and its sequels, first drew attention to the project with a reveal trailer, and Sony shared new gameplay and story details during a State of Play presentation in June 2026 — the same broadcast that confirmed the September 15 release date. The game itself is priced at US$69.99, with a Digital Deluxe Edition available at US$79.99 / £79.99 / €79.99 / ¥8,980. A Standard Edition launch on PlayStation 5 was first signalled back in September 2025, when Sony announced a Fall 2026 window before narrowing it to the September date this past June. For fans weighing an upgrade, the bundle's US$649.99 price sits well below the US$699.99 RRP of a standard PS5 Pro, though the Wolverine bundle is a Digital Edition without the Pro's enhanced hardware. The standalone covers and controllers, meanwhile, offer the themed look at roughly the cost of a new game — a lower barrier for anyone whose current console already does the job.
Pre-orders go live August 19 at PlayStation Direct, with everything shipping September 15.
