Two of Demi Lovato's biggest singles, 'Cool for the Summer' and 'Confident', have been certified five-times Platinum by the RIAA — the Recording Industry Association of America, which awards Platinum status when a single reaches one million equivalent units in the US, with each additional million adding another Platinum tier. Five-times Platinum means each track has now passed five million units.

Disney Music Group president Ken Bunt presented the certification plaques to Lovato ahead of the Los Angeles premiere of Camp Rock 3 on Monday, Aug. 10, according to Billboard. Business Wire also confirmed the certifications in an announcement distributed on Aug. 11.

Both songs come from Lovato's 2015 album Confident. 'Cool for the Summer' arrived in July 2015 as the album's lead single and climbed to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the magazine's weekly chart of the most-consumed songs in the US — in September of that year. The title track, 'Confident', followed and peaked at No. 21 on the same chart in December 2015. The album itself debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the equivalent album chart, in November 2015 and earned a Grammy nomination for best pop vocal album.

The timing ties the certifications to a full-circle moment for Lovato. Camp Rock 3 arrives Thursday, Aug. 13 on Disney Channel and the following day on Disney+, as Billboard reported. Lovato reprises her role as Mitchie Torres and serves as an executive producer on the film. The original Camp Rock premiered in 2008, launching Lovato's career while she was still a teenager.

For Lovato, these are far from her first multi-Platinum singles. 'Sorry Not Sorry' was certified seven-times Platinum by the RIAA in December 2023, and 'Heart Attack' reached six-times Platinum in January 2026. Her most recent studio album, It's Not That Deep, her ninth, was released in October 2025.

The RIAA's Gold & Platinum database lists 'Cool for the Summer' on Hollywood Records with a five-times Platinum certification date of December 23, 2024, and 'Confident' with a date of August 1, 2023 — meaning the tracks cleared the five-million mark in those periods, with the plaques presented to Lovato this week in conjunction with the film premiere.
