Fred again.. and Latin Mafia's '9 months & 50 hours' Debuts at No. 1 on Top Latin Pop Albums
Fred again.. and Latin Mafia's collaborative album '9 months & 50 hours' has opened at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Pop Albums chart, giving both acts their highest placement on a Latin chart to date. The 14-track album, released July 31 via Fred again../Atlantic/AG Records, also debuted at No. 8 on the Top Latin Albums chart and No. 9 on Top Dance Albums, according to Billboard.
The album arrived with a little over 8,000 equivalent album units — the measure that converts streaming plays and physical sales into a single album-sales figure — in the week ending August 6, with the total driven mostly by streaming. Tracks from the record generated 8.4 million official on-demand streams in the United States during that same tracking week, according to Luminate, the data firm that powers Billboard's charts.
The release itself was a spectacle. On July 27, Fred again.. and Latin Mafia announced they would livestream the making of an entire mixtape from Mexico City, starting the broadcast at 1PM local time on Fred again..'s YouTube account. The stream ran for 50 hours straight from Lago Algo, a venue in Bosque Chapultepec, with the duo finishing the full record on camera before leaving the livestream running afterward (DJ Mag). The album's title, '9 months & 50 hours', nods to that marathon session.
The collaboration came together after Fred again.. publicly declared himself a fan of Latin Mafia's debut album 'Todos Los Días Todo El Día', released in 2024 (Rolling Stone). That record had peaked at No. 11 on Top Latin Pop Albums — Latin Mafia's previous career high. The new album clears that bar entirely.
For Fred again.., it is a first on multiple fronts: his first appearance on any Latin albums chart, his first No. 1 on one, and his first top-10 entry on Top Latin Albums. His only prior Latin chart presence was a single remix, 'Beto's Horns (Fred Remix)' with Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, which reached the Latin Digital Song Sales chart in November. He had previously scored a No. 1 album with Brian Eno on the New Age Albums chart in 2023 with 'Secret Life'.
Latin Mafia, meanwhile, became the first band to open atop the Top Latin Pop Albums chart since The Mavericks did it with 'En Español' in 2020. The album is also 2026's only top-10 debut by a Latin pop act on the Top Latin Albums chart and the year's sole No. 1 debut on Top Latin Pop Albums.
Eleven tracks from '9 months & 50 hours' landed on the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart, led by 'Te Estoy Correteando', which opened at No. 1 with 1.5 million official streams in its first week. That track also debuted at No. 2 on Hot Tropical Songs and No. 7 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. The livestreamed album session was preceded by the July 26 release of 'under the fabric (Mexico City, 11th December 2025)', a 35-minute film documenting the duo's earlier work together (Billboard).
