Fred again.. and Latin Mafia will build a mixtape from scratch on a live YouTube stream starting Tuesday, July 28, at 1 p.m. CT from Mexico City — and they plan to keep the cameras rolling until it is finished.

In his statement, Fred again.. said he and Latin Mafia — three brothers — had been working on music together on and off for about two years. He also makes music with his own younger brother, which he said makes it "five brothers every time we get together." The music they made, he said, naturally felt like part of the same contained universe, and they decided to release it all as one project.

The livestream follows a 35-minute film titled under the fabric (Mexico City, 11th December 2025), released on July 26, which documents the session that inspired the mixtape project. Screenings of the film were held at Cine Tonalá in Roma Sur, Mexico City, on July 20, 2026, running from midday to 10 p.m. local time.

Latin Mafia were among the special guests at Fred again..'s show in Mexico City on December 12, 2025 — the final night of his "10 shows in 10 weeks in 10 cities" tour. That concert, and the creative sessions around it, became the foundation for both the film and the upcoming mixtape.

The livestream announcement also comes on the heels of Fred again..'s appearance at the Eaux Claires festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, which returned from an eight-year hiatus on July 24–25.
