Boris Kodjoe Joins Fox's Memory of a Killer for Season 2
Boris Kodjoe has been cast in a recurring role on the second season of Fox's Memory of a Killer, joining a growing ensemble as the drama heads toward a midseason 2027 premiere. The news, first reported by Deadline on 11 August 2026, adds a familiar face to a series built on a premise with deep European roots.
Memory of a Killer stars Patrick Dempsey as Angelo Flannery, also known as Doyle — a man leading a double life as a hitman while slowly losing his memory to early-onset Alzheimer's. The series is inspired by both a novel and the 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer, which won awards on the festival circuit. Fox's own series page describes the central character as a hitman whose dangerous second life collides with a degenerative diagnosis. Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment produce the show together.
Kodjoe will play Tré, described in casting notes as the "Fourth Musketeer" — the closest childhood friend of Angelo (Dempsey), Dutch (Michael Imperioli), and Angelo's brother Michael (Richard Clarkin). Tré is a high-level corporate executive being honoured for saving the childhood community centre the group shared. The role places Kodjoe squarely inside the show's emotional core: the bonds formed long before Angelo's double life began to unravel.
For Kodjoe, the part follows a long television run as Captain Robert Sullivan on ABC's firefighter drama Station 19, which concluded its seven-season run. The German-born actor and producer first broke through as Kelby in the 2002 film Brown Sugar and has been a steady presence on US network television since.
He is not the only new arrival. Meta Golding and Natalie Zea were previously announced for Season 2. Golding, a series regular, plays Mel — Angelo's childhood sweetheart. Zea takes on the recurring role of Olivia. The first-season cast included Peter Gadiot, Richard Harmon, Odeya Rush, and Daniel David Stewart, alongside Dempsey and Imperioli.
Behind the camera, the executive producer roster is heavy with experienced hands. Dempsey doubles as an EP alongside showrunners Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler. Arthur Sarkissian, Martin Campbell, and Peter Bouckaert — the latter a connection to the original Belgian source material — round out the producing team.
Fox has set Season 2 for a midseason 2027 slot, meaning audiences can expect it in the first half of the calendar year. The network's series page currently lists no episodes in the current season, consistent with the production being in early stages for its return.
For fans of Dempsey's post-Grey's Anatomy work, the second season deepens the show's ensemble rather than narrowing it — bringing in childhood figures who knew Angelo before the memory loss took hold.
