Meta Golding has been cast as a series regular opposite Patrick Dempsey in Season 2 of Fox's Memory of a Killer, Deadline reported on 28 July 2026. She will play Mel, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist who reappears in the life of Dempsey's character Angelo as his love interest for the new season. Golding's deal is for one year.

The character of Mel is also Angelo's childhood sweetheart, according to Deadline. That sets up a personal thread running alongside the show's central premise: Angelo Flannery, played by Dempsey, leads a double life while losing his memory. The series is inspired by the book and 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer.

Fox renewed Memory of a Killer for a second season in April 2026, as Variety reported at the time. Season 2 is set to premiere midseason 2027 — meaning it will land in the January-to-spring window that broadcasters use to launch new and returning dramas. The show is produced by Warner Bros Television and Fox Entertainment, with Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler as showrunners. Michael Imperioli also stars. Executive producers include Dempsey, Zelman, Kessler, Arthur Sarkissian, Martin Campbell, and Peter Bouckaert of Eyeworks.

Golding's recent television credits give a sense of her range. She recurred on HBO Max's The Pitt and Netflix's Ransom Canyon, and was part of the main cast of Paramount+'s Rabbit Hole. On film, she appeared in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. She also played Rosa Parks in the NAACP-nominated film Behind the Movement.
