Netflix Drops 'Crew Girl' Trailer: A Teen Rowing Drama Arriving September 10
Netflix has released the first trailer for Crew Girl, a coming-of-age drama set in the elite world of East Coast prep school rowing, and the series arrives on the platform on September 10, 2026 (Deadline, 12 August 2026).
The eight-episode series follows 16-year-old Teagan Tao, played by Miku Martineau, a star rower whose life is upended when her father's misdeeds come to light. Teagan and her mother are forced to relocate to a small East Coast town, where Teagan enrols at an elite prep school and becomes the coxswain — the person who steers the boat and calls instructions — of a dysfunctional all-boys rowing team (Deadline, 12 August 2026). The cast surrounding Martineau is rounded out by Sam Braun as Josh Regis, Kyle Clark as Cam Dillinger, Jessica Paré as Teagan's mother Ella, and Thomas Cadrot as Coach Matt Hayden. Baloo Garner plays Jude Wilson and Connor Paton plays Rider Regis (Deadline, 12 August 2026).
Behind the camera, Crew Girl was created by Vivian Lin, who also serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner — the person with final creative authority over a series. Lin developed the show for television alongside Morwyn Brebner. The pilot episode is directed by Simon Barry, creator and showrunner of Netflix's Bet, which also stars Martineau. Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung and Lori Massini round out the executive producer credits (Deadline, 12 August 2026).
Production comes through Great Pacific Media, the scripted and unscripted live-action division of Thunderbird Entertainment. Netflix confirmed in September 2025 that the series had entered production in Victoria, British Columbia (The Futon Critic, 8 September 2025).
