Stephanie Koenig Joins Apple TV+'s Platonic for Season 3

Stephanie Koenig has been cast in a recurring role in the third season of Apple TV+'s Platonic, according to an exclusive report by Deadline.

Koenig will play Alex, a lawyer who has just started working at the firm of Charlie — a character played by Luke Macfarlane. It is a recurring part, meaning she will appear across multiple episodes without being a series regular.

Platonic centres on two former best friends approaching midlife, played by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, who reconnect after a long falling-out. The series is created by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, the duo behind the 2014 film Neighbors and its sequel. The cast also includes Carla Gallo alongside Macfarlane.

The show is produced by Sony Pictures Television, where Stoller's production company, Stoller Global Solutions, holds an overall deal — an arrangement that commits a producer's projects to one studio. Executive producers include Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco and Conor Welch, with Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver credited through Point Grey Pictures.

Koenig brings a strong comedy résumé to the role. She was a series regular and writer on the FX comedy English Teacher, playing history teacher Gwen Sanders. She also played Fran Frask opposite Brie Larson in Lessons in Chemistry, the Apple TV+ miniseries adapted from Bonnie Garmus's bestselling novel. Her other credits include recurring roles in the Paramount+ miniseries The Offer and HBO Max's The Flight Attendant.

For Koenig, the Platonic casting adds another Apple TV+ project to a career that has already spanned FX, Paramount+ and HBO Max. For the show, it deepens a Season 3 ensemble as the Rogen-Byrne reunion continues into a third chapter. Koenig is represented by Green Management, Paradigm Talent Agency and Ziffren Brittenham.
