Noma Dumezweni Joins Apple TV's Disavowed as Series Regular

Noma Dumezweni has joined Apple TV's spy drama Disavowed as a series regular, meaning a full-time member of the main cast.
Deadline first reported the casting as an exclusive on 23 September. Details of her character are under wraps.
She joins a cast led by James Marsden. He stars as CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin. The story follows Griffin after he is fired. He chases a $15 million federal bounty placed on an assassin.
Norman Reedus, Sylvia Hoeks and Bokeem Woodbine are also in the cast. The ensemble is still taking shape. No premiere date has been announced.
The series comes from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Michelle MacLaren will direct the first two episodes. That opening block often sets the visual template for a new programme.
Disavowed hails from Apple Studios. It is produced by production organisation Blue Marble Pictures. Executive producers include Marcum, Holloway, Tom Spezialy, MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs and Marsden, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity also serving as executive producers.
For Dumezweni, it adds to a packed slate. She will appear in Susanna White's film adaptation of Prima Facie opposite Cynthia Erivo. She will also reprise her role in Season 2 of the Apple series Murderbot.
She will recur in two more shows. Those are Peacock's Dig and the FX series The Shards. A recurring role, meaning appearances across several episodes rather than every episode, keeps her moving between productions.
Dumezweni is repped by CAA, Conway Van Gelder Grant and Principal Entertainment.
