First-Look Images Land for The Terminal List Season 2 as Prime Video Sets October Premiere

Chris Pratt is back in uniform — and on the move. Prime Video has unveiled the first-look images for season two of The Terminal List, giving audiences their earliest glimpse of the series ahead of its 21 October 2026 premiere. All eight new episodes drop that Wednesday on the platform.

The reveal came through an Amazon MGM Studios press release on 17 August 2026, with The Hollywood Reporter publishing the images the same day. USA TODAY had its own exclusive first look a day earlier, on 16 August, spotlighting Pratt's physical transformation for the role. Jack Carr, the author behind the novel series, also shared exclusive photos on his Facebook page that same day.

Pratt returns as James Reece, the Navy SEAL commander at the centre of the show. Season two adapts True Believer, the second of Carr's five Reece novels. The new episodes expand the story from a psychological revenge tale into a globe-trotting espionage thriller, sending Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe as he works to untangle a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley — the Virginia headquarters of the CIA.

Joining the cast is Gabriel Luna, cast as Freddy Strain. A sizeable roster of returning faces lines up alongside Pratt: Tom Hopper, Constance Wu, Dar Salim, Luke Hemsworth, Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo and Shiraz Tzarfati.

The gap between seasons is notable. Season two arrives four years after the rookie season rolled out. Long waits between instalments are a familiar pattern in streaming, where production schedules, talent availability and post-production all factor into the timeline.

Behind the camera, the executive producer roster includes Pratt, Antoine Fuqua, showrunner David DiGilio, Carr himself, Kat Samick, Max Adams and Jared Shaw. Fuqua directed the original pilot. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC and Civic Center Media — a three-company partnership spanning studio, independent production company and media financier.

For fans of the first season, the shift in scope is the headline. Where season one kept Reece in a tightly personal orbit, season two widens the map to multiple continents. Eight episodes, one release day — the kind of full-season drop that lets viewers set their own pace.
