Xbox Reveals Next 10 Game Pass Titles, Headlined by a New Plague Tale Prequel

The third game in the Plague Tale series lands on Xbox Game Pass the day it goes on sale. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy arrives August 27 on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, Xbox announced in its August 2026 wave 2 lineup (Xbox Wire).
The game is a prequel set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem, focusing on a character named Sophia, who journeys to the Minotaur's Island to face deadly trials and navigate treacherous environments. It was previously confirmed at Xbox's June 2026 Games Showcase as a day-one Game Pass title and is being featured at gamescom on August 26 and 27 (Xbox Wire). Game Pass is Xbox's subscription service — players pay a monthly fee for access to a rotating library rather than buying each game individually.
Nine more titles join the service across the next two weeks. Egging On arrives August 18 across cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC. Three games follow on August 19: Vapor World: Over the Mind (a game preview, an early-access format letting players try an unfinished build), BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, and Relooted, all on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — with Vapor World also available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers.
Starsand Island joins on August 20. Aerial_Knight's DropShot and Blood Dungeon both arrive August 25, the latter on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Young Suns rounds out August on the 31st, and Shelldiver opens September on the 1st across Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass (VGC).
Five games leave the service on August 31: Another Crab's Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered Edition. Subscribers typically get a discount on purchasing any title before it rotates out.
For fans of narrative adventure, the Plague Tale prequel is the clear draw. The series is known for its atmospheric, story-driven gameplay set against grim medieval backdrops, and a day-one Game Pass inclusion means subscribers can jump in at release without a separate purchase.
The full lineup spans puzzle games, dungeon crawlers, a fighting title, and an island-life sim — a spread Xbox tends to favour when filling out its monthly waves between major first-party releases.
