New Orleans punk band Twisted Teens have signed to Sub Pop, the Seattle label confirmed on 19 August 2026. The deal gives Sub Pop international release rights to the group's latest album, Florida Water Blues, while the Going Underground label retains North American rights. Sub Pop has set the album's international release for 18 September 2026, with pre-orders open now on vinyl and CD. (Pitchfork)

Led by Caspian Halliwell and RJ Santos, Twisted Teens have been building momentum across three records in under two years. Their 2024 self-titled debut was followed by Blame the Clown, a 12-song album released in January 2026 on Chain Smoking Records. Florida Water Blues arrived in July 2026 on Going Underground — Sub Pop's involvement means the record now reaches listeners beyond North America through one of the most established independent labels operating today. Sub Pop is pressing the album as a 'Loser Edition' vinyl, a coloured pressing variant, priced at $28.00, with a CD edition at $12.00. (Pitchfork; Sub Pop)

The signing lands in the middle of a busy tour schedule. Twisted Teens opened for the Breeders on 24 August 2026 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, followed by a date at The Sound in Del Mar, California on 25 August and The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz on 26 August. Two newly added headlining shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco in early September extend the U.S. run. (Pitchfork; Ground Control Touring)

November brings a New York headline date at the Bowery Ballroom on 3 November — already sold out — before the band joins Kurt Vile and the Violators as openers from 4 to 24 November 2026. (Sub Pop)

A newly announced Australian run follows in December, covering Melbourne, Meredith (Victoria), Brisbane and Sydney. The dates run from 11 December in Melbourne to 16 December in Sydney, with a stop at the Meredith Music Festival on 12 December. (Pitchfork; Sub Pop)

Sub Pop has released music videos for the Florida Water Blues title track and its second single, 'Swamp'. For listeners outside North America, 18 September is the date the album becomes widely available through Sub Pop's distribution network. The label has not announced any additional catalogue plans beyond Florida Water Blues.

For a band whose catalogue still fits on a single shelf, the pace is notable: three albums, a label deal with Sub Pop, and a touring schedule that runs from Southern California to Victoria by year's end. The Bowery Ballroom sellout is a concrete measure of where demand sits. What the Sub Pop deal adds is reach — the infrastructure to put Florida Water Blues in front of listeners who may not have encountered the band's earlier, smaller-distribution releases.
