Tubi has struck licensing deals with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution and Sony Pictures Entertainment, adding hundreds of films and TV episodes to its free streaming services in the UK, Australia and Canada. Among the incoming titles: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Jurassic World. Deadline

The Fox-owned streamer, headquartered in San Francisco and available across the US, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, the UK and Australia, now counts more than 110 million monthly active users. That figure, cited by Deadline on 26 August 2026, aligns with Tubi's own corporate site. CEO Anjali Sud leads the company, which operates as part of Tubi Media Group under Fox Corporation.

In the UK, the Sony-distributed additions include Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Baby Driver and The Da Vinci Code. From NBCUniversal come Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Shaun of the Dead. Tubi said in April 2026 that its UK catalogue had topped 75,000 movies and TV episodes, and the company now reports 50% year-over-year growth in both total viewing time and monthly viewers in that market. Australian viewers get a different batch: Ex Machina, Jumanji and Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird. Canada's lineup includes Jurassic World, Happy Gilmore and The Fifth Element. The country-specific selections reflect how licensing rights work — studios sell distribution rights territory by territory, so the same platform can offer different libraries in different countries. Canada has been a particular focus. Earlier in 2026, Tubi added more than 600 movies and TV shows through deals with Disney, NBCUniversal, Sony, Warner Bros. Discovery and Lionsgate, according to a Deadline report published in April. That followed an earlier announcement of over 200 films added to the Canadian library. Deadline

David Salmon, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, International at Tubi, framed the new agreements as part of the company's broader studio partnerships. Tubi operates on an AVOD model — ad-supported video on demand, meaning viewers watch for free with commercial breaks rather than paying a subscription. The service says it is accessible on more than 30 devices, which it claims is the most of any AVOD platform. Tubi Corporate

For viewers in the UK, Australia and Canada, the practical effect is straightforward: more familiar titles landing on a free service. For Tubi, the deals deepen a catalogue strategy that has pushed the platform past 110 million monthly active users — a number that puts it in the conversation with far larger and far more expensive competitors.
