Sylvia Hoeks Joins Apple TV's Action Thriller 'Disavowed' as Series Regular

Sylvia Hoeks has been cast as a series regular in Apple TV's action thriller Disavowed, joining a lineup already led by James Marsden and Norman Reedus. Deadline reported the casting on 8 September 2026, though details of Hoeks' character remain under wraps.
The series centres on Brad Griffin, a CIA case officer played by Marsden, who is fired mid-hunt for an assassin that killed his colleague. Rather than walk away, Griffin pursues a $15 million federal bounty on the assassin's head — turning a government operation into a personal chase with a price tag attached.
Disavowed was created by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the writing duo behind Iron Man and Uncharted. Apple TV ordered the project in May 2026 as an ongoing series based on their original idea, meaning the show is built to run across multiple seasons rather than as a closed limited series. The order came from Apple Studios, with production by Blue Marble Pictures — the company behind Apple's critically acclaimed drama Pachinko.
Behind the camera, Michelle MacLaren will direct the first two episodes. MacLaren's credits include Breaking Bad and Apple's own The Morning Show, giving the series a seasoned hand at the helm. The executive producer roster includes Marcum and Holloway, Tom Spezialy, MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs, James Marsden, Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity.
For Hoeks, the role adds another major streaming project to a career already threading through some of television's bigger genre plays. She currently appears as Anna in Prime Video's Ride or Die and previously played Queen Kane in Apple TV's See, making Disavowed her second Apple series. Film audiences will recognise her as the replicant Luv in Blade Runner 2049.
Hoeks will also be on cinema screens before Disavowed arrives. She stars as Anna Nicole Smith in Francesca Gregorini's Hurricanna, set for theatrical release on 13 November.
Reedus was announced as part of the cast in late August 2026 via Apple TV's official X account, rounding out a trio of leads that pairs a blockbuster film writer-producers' vision with performers carrying strong streaming credentials. No premiere date for Disavowed has been set.
