Sebastian Koch has joined the cast of Apple TV's action-thriller series Disavowed, Deadline reported on 22 October 2026. He will play a series regular role, the industry term for a character who appears throughout the show rather than in a single episode.

The series is set in the world of spies. James Marsden plays CIA case officer Brad Griffin, who is fired while a global hunt for an assassin is under way. The assassin has killed Griffin's colleague. Griffin then goes after a $15 million federal bounty, a reward offered by the US government for the assassin's capture.

Marsden is not the only big name attached. The cast announced earlier includes Norman Reedus, Sylvia Hoeks, Bokeem Woodbine, Noma Dumezweni, Daniel Zovatto, Mia Tharia and Sonita Henry. Adding Koch brings the ensemble to a full set of familiar faces for a show built around a manhunt.

The series is created by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. It comes from Apple Studios, the in-house production arm of Apple TV, and is produced by Blue Marble Pictures. Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity are executive producers for Blue Marble, alongside Marcum, Holloway, Tom Spezialy, Rebecca Hobbs and Marsden. Executive producers are the people with overall creative and financial oversight of a series, often behind the scenes.

Michelle MacLaren will direct the first two episodes. Her name sits at the top of the directing credits for the opening stretch of the show.

Koch's other upcoming projects include The Batman: Part II and The Luneberg Variant. His representation is handled by The Artist Partnership in the UK and Agentur Schlag in Germany, according to the same Deadline report.

For viewers, the news is simple. A new cast member has been confirmed for a show that is still in production, and the series has a clear hook: a fired officer chasing the person who killed his colleague. More casting and production details are likely to follow as the show moves toward release.
