Taylor Frankie Paul says she stayed single after ABC shelved her Bachelorette season

Taylor Frankie Paul says she has stayed "in, single and celibate" since ABC shelved her season of The Bachelorette.

She posted the update on Saturday, Sept. 12. It is her most direct comment on her personal life since the season was put on hold.

The Bachelorette is ABC's long-running dating show, where one lead dates a group of suitors and chooses one at the end. Paul's season was due to begin on March 22. It was pulled three days before that date after a 2023 video resurfaced of her throwing a stool at former partner Dakota Mortensen, Deadline reported.

Paul addresses the unaired season in the fifth season of Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which arrived on Sept. 10. In the new episodes, she says she chose contestant Doug Mason as her final pick. The season was tabled, meaning held back with no new air date finalised.

Mason said in a statement that Paul's "moment was blocked" and that he was sending prayers to her. Paul said she will not allow anyone "intimate access to me again unless he's my person."

She drew a clear line.

Paul also shared photos of a publicised but unreleased magazine cover tied to The Bachelorette. She joked in the captions about "release the tapes" and a "bachelorette round two." No second season has been announced.

Disney reality chief Rob Mills said in May that ABC was taking the decision "day-to-day" on whether to release the filmed season. No release has followed.

After the pull in March, Paul took up learning piano. She spoke about the new hobby in late March, E! News reported.

For viewers, this leaves the filmed season unseen and Paul back on screen with Mormon Wives. Her post closes one question about where she stands now. It leaves open what, if anything, happens to the tapes.
