Copperhead Rounds Out Cast as Filming Starts in Oklahoma
Copperhead has locked its full cast and started filming in Oklahoma City.
Six actors have joined the Black Label thriller, with production now under way, Deadline reported on 14 September. Cameras are rolling.
The new additions are Shea Whigham, Jamie Chung, Bobby Soto, Alejandro Speitzer, Michael Raymond-James and Thad Luckinbill. They join a previously announced group led by Miles Teller, Leila George, Jason Momoa, Tenoch Huerta, Adria Arjona and Kiefer Sutherland.
The film is directed by John Swab from a script by Chad Feehan and J. Todd Scott. Swab is a Tulsa native, and the production keeps him on home ground in Oklahoma.
The project had been lined up for an August start when it was first announced in June, and local coverage had pointed to a shoot spread across Oklahoma, according to News on 6. That plan has now finalised in Oklahoma City, where filming is organised.
Behind the camera, Black Label Media is financing the film and producing alongside Lime Tree Productions and Milk Boy. On the sales side, CAA Media Finance and WME Independent are representing United States rights, while Black Bear is handling international rights. In plain terms, those are the agencies hired to sell the film to cinemas, broadcasters and streaming services in each territory.
What makes this stand out is scale. With twelve principal names now attached, Copperhead arrives with a large ensemble before a single frame has been sold to distributors. For fans, this means the next news to watch for is who picks it up, and when it lands on the release calendar.
