Marcello Hernández turned his first appearance at the Emmy Awards into a live dinner invitation.

Hernández was presenting the award for best directing for a comedy series at the 2026 Emmys. He told the audience it was his first time at the ceremony before he started naming his would-be guests.

He invited Zendaya and Tom Holland, whom he called Spider-Man, to come to his house for dinner. He then added Harrison Ford to the list, to laughs from the crowd.

The prize he was handing out went to Hiro Murai for Widow’s Bay, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Zendaya was in the room as a nominee for best actress in a drama series for Euphoria. Ford was nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy series for Shrinking, while Oscar Isaac was nominated for best actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for Beef.

Holland was also in the audience. He attended the Emmys for the first time to join Zendaya, according to Yahoo News.

For fans watching at home, it was one of those unscripted presenter detours that land because they are simple. No sketch. Just a newcomer inviting big names round for food.

The ceremony was the 78th Emmy Awards. It was hosted by Mariska Hargitay and aired live from the Peacock Theater on Monday, Sept. 14, on NBC and Peacock.
