Peacock Renews The Traitors for Three More Seasons Through Season 8

Peacock has ordered three more seasons of The Traitors, keeping the murder-mystery game on air through Season 8.

The renewal was reported by Variety on 16 September 2026. It locks in Seasons 6, 7 and 8 in one go. That is a long runway for any unscripted series.

The timing follows a big year for the show. Season 4 aired earlier in 2026, and Season 5 is set to debut on Peacock in 2027, according to the same report. The new order picks up from there.

Awards have helped the case. The Traitors won seven Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for Alan Cumming. Those two wins were the third in a row for both the show and its host. The series also won in every one of the seven categories in which it was nominated that year.

Viewers turned up too. Season 4 was the show’s biggest season to date, with viewing up 72% on Season 3, per Peacock and Nielsen data cited in the report. That is a sharp jump for a returning series.

Peacock is also spreading the format beyond streaming. NBC will launch The Traitors: New Blood at 8 p.m. ET/PT on 17 September. Episodes will stream the next day on Peacock.

Peacock’s listings describe the launch as a special two-hour episode, with new episodes to follow on Thursdays. The broadcast version brings the game to free-to-air television in the United States for the first time.

The order continues a steady build. Peacock ordered a third season in February 2024, when the show was its most-watched unscripted original of all time, then added Seasons 4 and 5 in August 2024 with Cumming confirmed to return as host.

For fans, this means no waiting around for a decision after each series. The castle game is booked for years, with a new broadcast edition arriving alongside the flagship run.
