The Voice Season 30 to Simulcast on Peacock, Premieres September 21
The Voice Season 30 will air on NBC and Peacock at the same time, the first simulcast in the show's history. The 30th season premieres on NBC on September 21, with Peacock carrying the episodes live as they air, according to Deadline. A simulcast simply means viewers on broadcast and streaming watch together, with no wait for next-day catch-up.
The launch is built as a three-night premiere. It starts with a two-hour debut episode on Monday, September 21, followed by further episodes on September 22 and September 23. NBC lists the same three-night opening as the kickoff to the new season.
Four coaches will take the red chairs. Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine return, and they are joined by Queen Latifah and Riley Green. The four will lead their own teams through the season.
As in past years, the contest starts with Blind Auditions. In that round the coaches listen with their backs to the stage and turn if they want the singer on their team. Season 30 adds a new 'first in button' for moments when several coaches turn at once.
The coach who presses first gets an extra chance to claim the artist. The rule applies before the singer makes a final choice of team. It puts extra weight on speed as well as persuasion.
The cut to the live shows is sharp. Each coach will move two artists straight through to the live stage. Five more singers from each team will then battle for one remaining place on that team.
Those live shows will run for six weeks. One themed week will pay tribute to Dolly Parton. Themed weeks give the remaining singers a shared assignment, with song choices built around one idea or artist.
Viewers at home will vote by text message and on TikTok to keep their favourites in the contest. Results from that vote decide who stays and who goes through the six-week stretch.
For fans, this means choice on night one. Anyone with NBC can watch on broadcast, while Peacock subscribers can stream the same episode live. Both groups see the auditions unfold at the same pace, chair turn by chair turn.
What makes this stand out is the scale. Thirty seasons is a long run for any singing contest, and the new button and tighter team rules reset the early strategy. The live vote then hands the outcome back to the audience.
