Keke Palmer will host The Voice: Celebrity, a celebrity-spinoff edition of NBC's long-running singing competition, replacing Carson Daly who has held the mic since the show launched in 2011. The new edition is currently in production and will air in spring 2027 as what NBC is treating as Season 31 of The Voice (Deadline).

Palmer steps into the role Daly has occupied for fifteen years. Daly is not leaving the franchise: he will serve as a producer on the celebrity edition.

The coaching panel brings a mix of new and familiar faces. Joe Jonas will make his hosting debut as one of the coaches — his first time in a Voice coaching chair. Queen Latifah and country artist Riley Green will also coach. Latifah and Green are already booked as coaches for Season 30 of The Voice, which launches in fall 2026 (Deadline).

The celebrity edition swaps out the show's usual undiscovered talent for a cast of actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians and reality TV stars competing against each other. Two new format features will debut: Voice Boot Camp, and a VIP room where artists can watch their fellow celebrities perform from the sidelines (Deadline).

The show is produced by MGM Alternative, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and ITV Studios. The original Voice format was created by John de Mol. Executive producers on the celebrity edition include Audrey Morrissey, Mark Burnett, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick (Deadline).

For viewers, the appeal is straightforward: recognisable faces singing in earnest competition, coached by names that span pop, hip-hop and country. The format that spent fifteen seasons looking for unknown voices will spend at least one looking for famous ones.
