NBC announced on 4 August that production is underway on The Voice: Celebrity, a spinoff that swaps aspiring singers for famous faces — actors, musicians, athletes, influencers, comedians and reality TV stars competing under the show's signature spinning chairs. The series is set to premiere on NBC in 2027. Billboard

Keke Palmer will host, making her the first person other than Carson Daly to lead a season of The Voice franchise. Daly has hosted every cycle of the flagship show since it launched in 2011. He will continue in that role for The Voice season 30 this autumn and stays attached to the celebrity edition as a producer.

Joe Jonas will make his debut as a coach, joining Queen Latifah and Riley Green on the panel. For Jonas, it is a first turn in the big red chair; Queen Latifah and Riley Green are both returning to the coaching format after previous stints.

The celebrity contestants have not yet been named. NBC said the full cast of competitors will be announced at a later date.

The spinoff will also add new behind-the-scenes segments to the format. A Voice Boot Camp segment will show contestants preparing for the Blind Auditions — the round where coaches pick singers based on voice alone, without seeing them. A VIP Room will capture celebrities reacting to each other's performances in real time. A Workroom segment will offer a look at rehearsals and strategy sessions leading into the Battle rounds, where two singers from the same team face off and one is eliminated.

The flagship The Voice format, licensed from the Dutch original The Voice of Holland, has aired in more than 180 countries. The celebrity edition extends a brand that already spans prime-time competition, touring shows and digital content.

For viewers, the appeal is straightforward: familiar faces in unfamiliar roles, and the same blind-audition tension that has defined the show for over a decade. The added segments promise more access to the rehearsal-room side of the competition — a layer the flagship has largely kept off-screen.

NBC has not confirmed an episode count, a specific premiere date within 2027, or whether any celebrity contestants have already signed on.
