MobLand Season 2 brings the Harrigans back to Paramount+

The Harrigans are out of jail and fighting to keep their empire.

MobLand Season 2 launched globally on Paramount+ on 18 September, reuniting Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren for the organised-crime drama from Guy Ritchie, according to Paramount.

Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan. Mirren plays his wife Maeve. Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, the fixer — the clean-up man — who works for them.

The new run picks up with Conrad and Maeve free. They start the season out of jail and under pressure. The logline is simple: hold the empire together.

There are new rivals across the table. Janet McTeer joins as Kat Macallister, with Johnny Flynn as her fixer Frankie, who is a germaphobe. Toby Jones also returns as Colin Tattersall, a corrupt former cop, as reported in The Hollywood Reporter.

Brosnan calls the part “pure lunacy.” He told the Reporter that Ritchie’s direction for Conrad was short: “Go Irish, go mad.” Mirren is just as committed. She puts Maeve in the top four roles of her career.

The scripts come from showrunner Jez Butterworth, meaning the writer in charge of the series week to week. Brosnan has praised that writing and said he would very much like to see more seasons beyond this one.

The return was briefly clouded by chatter about tension with Hardy. Brosnan and Mirren pushed that back ahead of launch. Brosnan called the feud reports “a storm in a teacup” and said it is all happy families on set, as reported by Deadline.

For fans, this means no off-screen drama to decode. Just the Harrigans, their fixer, and two dangerous newcomers.

Bond talk followed Brosnan to the junket, as usual. Asked about the next 007 casting, the former Bond said he is “just a member of the audience now” and will not hear before the public. Responding to a Page Six report linking Jack Barton as a frontrunner, he said he is awaiting the announcement and wishes whoever gets it well.
