Madonna and Charli xcx will release ‘Danceteria Afterhours’ on 24 September through Warner Records. Madonna confirmed the joint remix on 21 September, three days after the pair first teased it online. The release date falls on a Thursday.
The new track is a reworked version of ‘Danceteria’, a Stuart Price-produced song from Madonna’s album ‘Confessions II’, according to Billboard. A remix keeps the core of an existing song and rebuilds it with new vocals, production or structure. In this case, Charli xcx joins Madonna on the new mix.
A press release describes ‘Danceteria Afterhours’ as “a celebration of the fearless beginnings and influences that shaped each artist’s singular paths.” No running time or full production credits have been made public yet. Warner Records is named as the releasing label.
The rollout started quietly. Madonna and Charli xcx shared a brief teaser on Instagram on 18 September, as reported by JustJared. That post did not include a title or date. The full announcement followed on 21 September, confirming both the title and the 24 September release.
That Thursday date is also listed as Thursday, 24 September 2026. It gives fans a three-day wait between confirmation and release. The short gap is common for surprise remix drops, where the teaser does much of the early work.
There will also be a physical option for buyers in the United Kingdom. Madonna’s official shop lists a UK CD edition of Madonna and Charli’s ‘Danceteria’ as a three-track CD single. It pairs the Afterhours mix with Charli xcx alongside the Harry Romero remix and the original version. The disc comes in a purple art sleeve.
For fans, this means a choice about how to hear it. The main event is the joint Afterhours mix arriving on 24 September. The CD edition adds context, placing that new version next to a separate remix and the album recording it grew from.
