Madonna takes 'Danceteria' to 10th Dance Airplay No. 1

Madonna has her 10th No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Airplay chart with "Danceteria." Billboard confirmed on 25 September that the track jumps from No. 6 to No. 1 on the 3 October-dated ranking. Billboard
Dance Airplay measures plays on a panel of dance radio reporters in the United States. "Danceteria" reached the top with a 34% increase in plays among those reporters during the 18-24 September tracking week, according to Luminate, the data company that powers Billboard's charts.
It is the third No. 1 from Madonna's album Confessions II on that chart. "I Feel So Free" and "Love Sensation" got there first, making Confessions II a three-chart-topper campaign on dance radio.
The latest move shifts Madonna's place in the chart's history. She passes Ellie Goulding for the fifth-most No. 1s since Dance Airplay began. Ahead of Madonna's 10 are The Chainsmokers with 11, Rihanna with 12, Calvin Harris with 19 and David Guetta with 21.
Confessions II was released on 3 July alongside "Danceteria." The album opened with 134,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States, the measure that converts streams and track sales into album sales. That total gave Madonna her 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in July.
That album chart result paired with her singles history. With 12 No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100, the all-genre US singles chart, Madonna became the fourth act to reach double digits on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200. The others are The Beatles, Drake and Taylor Swift.
The single has continued in new versions. Madonna released a remix of "Danceteria" with Harry Romero on 21 August, followed by a reimagined version with Charli xcx titled "Danceteria Afterhours" on 24 September.
What makes this stand out is the concentration. Three separate radio runs to No. 1 have come from one album released in July, extended by remixes and a collaboration arriving late in the cycle.
For the labels, there is a close race behind the songs. "Danceteria" gave Warner Records its fourth Dance Airplay No. 1 of 2026, tying Republic Records for the most among labels this year. One of Warner's earlier 2026 toppers was Jennifer Lopez and David Guetta's "Save Me Tonight" in May.
