Ozzfest is coming back to the US and the UK in 2027.

The heavy metal festival announced the plan in an Instagram post on Monday, Sept. 21. The caption said only: "More Info Coming Soon!!! Where are you hoping Ozzfest 2027 will pop up?"

The US edition would be the first in nearly a decade, according to Billboard. No dates. No cities. No line-ups yet. At the time of that reporting, none of those details had been disclosed.

Sharon Osbourne told Billboard that negotiations with Live Nation, the concert promoter, were under way to stage the 2027 return. Birmingham in England had already been named for a UK edition at Villa Park, the 42,000-capacity football stadium.

Villa Park hosted Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne's Back to the Beginning farewell show in July 2025. Earlier posts from the festival said the Birmingham edition was planned to run over two days and to take place before the US edition.

The 2027 return is not planned as a travelling festival, one that moves from city to city, according to Blabbermouth. There are tentative plans to take it on the road in 2028 and beyond if demand warrants.

Ozzfest was created by Sharon Osbourne in 1996 after she was unable to book Ozzy Osbourne on Lollapalooza, the touring US festival. It then ran as an annual touring festival in the US and Europe through 2008. Its most recent edition was a one-day event in 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

For fans, this means a wait for the practical details. Dates, cities, tickets and bands have not been confirmed. The festival has asked where people want it to appear, and says more information will follow.
