Ozzfest Starts Countdown to 2027 Comeback Announcement

Ozzfest has started a countdown clock ahead of a announcement about its 2027 return, with the timer set to expire at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 5. The festival posted the clock on Tuesday morning with the caption "Countdown's begun," according to Billboard.
The festival has not yet said what the announcement will contain. It has, however, already confirmed some of the plans. Ozzfest said on Sept. 21 that "Ozzfest will come to the U.K. and U.S." in 2027, and it has now confirmed a stop at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, alongside U.S. dates.
Sharon Osbourne, who co-founded the festival, told Billboard earlier this year that she had been in talks with Live Nation, the large live entertainment company, about bringing Ozzfest back. Her talks with the company, and the dates it has confirmed so far, are the only firm steps.
Ozzfest began in 1996. Osbourne started it after she could not book her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, on the Lollapalooza touring festival. It ran as an annual touring event through 2008, and built a following for heavy rock and metal acts over that stretch.
The festival's most recent edition was a one-day show in 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. That lineup included Rob Zombie, Body Count and Marilyn Manson. The same night also marked a New Year's Eve celebration, with about 10 hours of music before midnight.
Since then, Ozzfest has been mostly quiet. It held a virtual event, Virtual OzzFest 2022, which featured Ozzy Osbourne, Motörhead, Megadeth, Black Label Society and Skid Row among its confirmed acts.
For fans, the next clue arrives on Thursday. Until then, the clock is the only official detail on offer, and the first full lineup, dates and ticket information are still to be announced.
