Blue Bendy will release their second album, One Day This Will All Be Lore, on January 29, 2027.

The South East London six-piece confirmed the nine-track record alongside a video for lead song Dragonslayer, according to Pitchfork. The follow-up to their 2024 debut So Medieval arrives after a period off stage.

Dragonslayer runs 4 minutes 18 seconds. The band flagged its arrival on September 20, 2026, saying it would go out at 10am BST the next day. The video was directed by the band’s synthesist Olivia Morgan.

Morgan said she had not directed a music video before. She called Dragonslayer experiment one in learning film. Frontperson Arthur Nolan said he was trying to subvert Arthurian chivalry in a modern context with the song.

The announcement also confirmed a changed line-up. Co-founders Harrison Charles and Oscar Tebbutt have left the band. A press release attributed the departures to Nolan’s struggles with alcoholism.

Bassist Dina Willcock and drummer Tristan Petsola have joined in their place. The rest of the line-up is Nolan and Morgan with original guitarists Joe Nash and Oliver Chester-Nolan.

After the departures, the band stepped back from public view for a hiatus. Its Bandcamp page notes that a celebratory UK tour for So Medieval was cancelled after one show.

One song on the new record addresses that difficult period directly. The track The Tiger Who Came to Tea documents a 2025 episode in which Nolan fell off the wagon, was marooned in Germany, and came around in a sanatorium in Cologne.

The full tracklist is Dragonslayer, Poke, The Curve, Small Fortunes, Confession Rock, Accidentany, Vocal Fry Academia, Happy Birthday and The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Poke was previously released in September 2025, according to the band’s discography.

The album was produced by Balazs Altsach and mastered by Felix Davies. A digital pre-order on Bandcamp is priced at £9 or more, with one track available now. The download is offered in high-resolution 24-bit/48kHz audio, alongside standard MP3, FLAC and other formats.

For listeners catching up, So Medieval was released in April 2024 and contains ten tracks. The new album more than doubles that gap in time.

Blue Bendy have also announced shows in London, Manchester and Glasgow.
