Tod's, the Italian leather-goods house, has named Chinese actress Zhu Zhu as its new house ambassador, WWD reported on 23 September.

A house ambassador fronts advertising and represents the label at public events. Zhu Zhu starts the job in the front row. She will attend Tod's spring 2027 show in Milan on Friday.

Zhu Zhu was born and raised in Beijing. She first became known to audiences as a host on MTV China. She then moved into singing and acting.

International viewers may know her best as Kokachin, the Blue Princess, in the Netflix series "Marco Polo". She also appeared in the film "Cloud Atlas". That screen history gives her a profile well beyond China. It is the kind of reach fashion labels now look for in a face.

She already has history with Tod's. She attended the November 2025 opening of its flagship at Galaxy Macau, the entertainment and shopping complex in Macau. That shop is the brand's largest store in Greater China. Chinese actor and singer Xiao Zhan, who serves as a Tod's global brand ambassador, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the same store and joined the unveiling of Tod's "Winter Holidays" pop-up there, according to an earlier WWD report.

Her first work in the new title is already out. In campaign images, Zhu Zhu wears a full look from Tod's fall 2026 collection, the seasonal range the label showed earlier this year. She carries the label's new T Signature bag. The adjustable strap is personalised with her initials, ZZ. Small detail. Clear signal.

Zhu Zhu joins a busy roster. In August, Tod's tapped Thai-British actress and singer Becky Armstrong as a new brand ambassador. Xiao Zhan continues as a global brand ambassador and recently fronted Tod's Italian Stories in Milan, a portrait series captured inside Villa Borsani. Model Liu Wen and actresses Ni Ni and Wen Qi have also appeared as brand ambassadors for the label.

For fans, this means a familiar face in a new front-row seat. Watch Milan on Friday. The guest list often tells you as much as the clothes.
