Spotify joins 2026 MTV VMAs as music and video partner

Spotify has partnered with Paramount as the official music and video partner of the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, which air on Sunday, Sept. 27. Billboard
It is the first time fans can watch VMAs video content directly on Spotify. The deal puts a dedicated VMAs destination inside the app, rather than sending listeners elsewhere to catch up on clips.
That destination is live from Friday, Sept. 25. It opens with a curated collection of archival VMAs performances spanning more than 40 years.
The hub also carries the official MTV VMAs video playlist, plus curated video and editorial content built around this year's nominees. There is a separate hub for the Nirvana Video Vanguard 2026 award. On mobile, fans can find it under ‘VMAs 2026’ on the home page or by searching ‘VMAs’.
Select performances from the 2026 show will be added to Spotify to watch after the live broadcast ends. The partnership will also celebrate Madonna’s opening performance at this year’s ceremony, with Spotify listed as the presenting partner for that slot. Paramount
The 2026 VMAs will be hosted by Snoop Dogg live from Los Angeles. In the United States, the show airs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. ET, or 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT, on CBS, with a simulcast, a simultaneous broadcast, on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ Premium. It will be available globally the next day on Paramount+ and MTV.
For fans, this means the build-up, the archive and the aftermath sit in one place. A viewer can revisit an older performance on Friday, follow nominee playlists through the weekend, then find select moments from Sunday’s broadcast back in the same app.
