Julión Álvarez honours mariachi with new EP 'Ranchero de Corazón'

Julión Álvarez has released 'Ranchero de Corazón', a four-song EP that honours mariachi music, on Sept. 24.
The set is built around traditional mariachi arrangements, according to Billboard. It is his second release under Copar Music, his own record label. He produced it himself.
The writing credits span Alfonso de la Cruz Pecas, Hansen Flores and César Estrada Moreno. Álvarez discussed the project with Billboard in Guadalajara ahead of release.
"Mariachi is sacred to me," he told the outlet. It is a short statement. It explains the whole approach.
Álvarez records and tours as a regional Mexican star. Regional Mexican is the broad term for styles from Mexico's north and centre, including banda, norteño and ranchera. He is widely known as 'El Rey de la Taquilla', which translates as The King of the Box Office.
His chart history is long. He has 37 entries on Regional Mexican Airplay, Billboard's radio chart for the genre, and five No. 1s on Regional Mexican Albums, its albums chart for the genre, according to Billboard.
In 2025, he became the first Latin artist to sell out three consecutive concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. That venue is one of the largest stadiums in the United States.
For fans, this means new music arrives with live dates. Álvarez has concerts scheduled at Estadio Jalisco on Sept. 25 and 26, each for more than 48,000 people. The Sept. 26 date forms part of Prófugos del Anexo, his joint tour with Alfredo Olivas.
Four songs. Two stadium-scale nights. One clear centre: mariachi.
