Ben Hardy to lead Prime Video's Stillwater series

Ben Hardy has his next leading role. He will play Daniel West in Stillwater, an eight-part drama coming to Prime Video.
Hardy’s casting was reported by Deadline on 28 September 2026. West is the centre of the story. He is an ex-con who receives a mysterious letter promising answers about his past, along with a substantial inheritance waiting in the small town of Stillwater.
The premise is simple. One man. One letter. One town holding the truth.
The series was given an eight-episode series order, meaning a full first season was commissioned in one go, ahead of San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026. That kind of order sends a show straight into production as a complete season rather than testing it with a standalone trial episode.
Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray co-wrote the pilot episode, the opening instalment that sets up the world and characters. The pair also serve as executive producers, the senior roles that oversee a series creatively and financially.
Stillwater comes from Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television and Skybound Entertainment, according to Deadline. Amazon MGM Studios is also listed as a producer. The structure is common in streaming drama, with a studio, a production company and the platform’s own studio sharing the work.
The show is based on the Skybound graphic novel by Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K Pérez. That book provides the source material for the television adaptation.
For viewers, this means the shape of the first season is now clear: eight episodes, a closed mystery around West’s past, and a lead actor in place. Production details, including other casting and a release date, have not been disclosed in the report.
