Marvel's Wolverine breaks into US top 10 for weekly players

Marvel's Wolverine has cracked the top 10 for weekly players in the United States in its launch week.
The game ranked seventh on Circana's Top 10 Titles by weekly active users in the US for the week ending September 19, and was the only single-player title on that list, GameSpot reported. Weekly active users means people who logged in to play during that week. It is a straight count of players, not sales.
The launch was tight. Marvel's Wolverine was developed by Insomniac Games and released on September 15. It is a PS5 exclusive, Push Square reported.
Circana's Player Engagement Tracker compiles the chart. It ranks titles by most active users on a weekly basis.
The company around Wolverine is telling. Marvel Rivals placed sixth and Minecraft placed eighth, sandwiching Wolverine between them. Both are multiplayer fixtures. Rivals is a team-based online shooter. Minecraft is a building and survival game played across consoles, PC and mobile.
Wolverine stood alone as a story-led game played solo. The rest of the top 10 are live-service games, sold and kept going with updates and seasons after launch. Those titles tend to dominate playtime charts because they are built for repeat visits.
Engagement was strong. The average US Marvel's Wolverine player spent 14.2 hours with the game during the week, according to Circana's Player Engagement Tracker. Its player engagement also ranked in the top 20 across all titles on PlayStation for the week.
What makes this stand out is the format. One new solo adventure held its place among games designed to run for years.
