Netflix has finished filming Wednesday Season 3 and shared a first photo of Jenna Ortega back as Wednesday Addams. Production has officially wrapped, according to a report published on 30 September 2026 Variety. The image puts Ortega front and centre again.

A first look means an official still released to preview a new season. A wrap means shooting has finished and the footage moves into editing.

Ortega stars in the Tim Burton-directed series, which launched in 2022. The programme is based on characters created by Charles Addams. Burton directs and serves as an executive producer, a senior role that helps oversee the production.

The audience figures help explain the quick return. Season 1 is Netflix's most-watched English-language series of all time, by the company's own viewing count. Season 2 ranks as the No. 10 most-watched title of all time on Netflix.

Its first four episodes drew 50 million views in their first five days, after Season 2 arrived in two parts in August and September Variety. Views here are Netflix's own count of watches. Five days is a short window, which is why the number stood out.

Season 3 widens the family. Eva Green joins as Ophelia Frump, the sister of Morticia and aunt to Wednesday. Winona Ryder also joins the cast, reuniting with Ortega and Burton.

Other newcomers include Lena Headey, James Lance, Oscar Morgan, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor and Kennedy Moyer. Their casting was confirmed as part of the wrap announcement Variety.

Season 3 was filmed in Paris and Dublin. It follows a tense ending. Season 2 closed with Wednesday setting off with Uncle Fester to rescue Enid, who is trapped as an alpha werewolf.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar developed the series for television and serve as showrunners, meaning they lead day-to-day creative decisions, as well as executive producers. MGM Television, the organisation behind the programme, is the studio. A studio in this context is the company that physically makes the programme for the streamer to release.

For fans, this means the focus now shifts to release. Filming is finalised. That stage covers editing, sound and visual effects before Netflix sets a launch.
