Wednesday Season 3 Wraps Filming, but Release Still a Way Off

Wednesday Season 3 has finished filming, but viewers will have to wait a while to see it.
The new season faces a long run of post-production effects work, the stage after the shoot where editing, sound and visual effects are finished, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Netflix declined to give further updates on timing. No release date has been confirmed.
Jenna Ortega is back as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series. The show is led by showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, meaning the lead writers who run the series day to day.
History points to patience. Three years passed between Season 1 in 2022 and Season 2 in 2025. Season 2 then took eight months to reach screens after filming wrapped.
The production has also moved country. Season 1 was shot mainly in Romania. Season 2 filming began in May in Ireland, and Season 3 was under way near Dublin as of 9 April 2026.
The new run adds familiar faces. Lena Headey has joined the cast for Season 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Winona Ryder has also been cast for the season, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Netflix has teased a Paris detour in the new story, via Netflix Tudum.
The wait matters because the numbers are large. Season 1 became Netflix’s most-watched English-language original series of all time. Season 2 ranks No. 6 among the streamer’s all-time English-language TV seasons.
For fans, this means the cameras have stopped but the computers are just getting started. The effects team now decides how soon Nevermore opens its doors again.
