Ubisoft has put Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon under Massive Entertainment.

The publisher set out the expanded role in an announcement titled 'Massive Entertainment: The Next Chapter Begins', published on September 30, 2026. Ubisoft The two Tom Clancy series will now be governed by the Sweden-based studio, alongside its existing work.

The change makes Massive the company's second multi-brand hub. It sits alongside Vantage Studios, which oversees Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six. Eurogamer

Massive will be led by Christoph Hartmann as general manager. He previously led Ubisoft Creative House 2, a cluster of studios that has now joined the expanded Massive brand. The combined teams span Montreal, Paris, Sweden and Toronto.

It is a broad remit for a studio that has been part of Ubisoft since 2008. Variety Massive is best known for The Division series, Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It is also developing a new original game called March of Giants.

The expansion follows a reorganisation announced on January 21, 2026, when Ubisoft said it would split the company into five creative divisions. Reuters The plan was designed to give individual studios and brands clearer ownership inside the wider group.

Ubisoft confirmed its 2026-27 targets on July 23, 2026. At that point it said it expected second-quarter bookings of around 370 million euros. Reuters

The Clancy brands have already seen change this year. Ubisoft ended game development at Red Storm Entertainment, the long-running Tom Clancy studio, with 105 roles lost. That decision was reported on March 19, 2026. Video Games Chronicle

For players, this means Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon now sit in one place. Stealth espionage and military co-op shooters are very different styles. Both will now be guided by the same leadership and studio network.
